On private property, you have more options — and more responsibility
A car on your lot, in your alley-facing garage, or in your driveway is a different situation. You generally can't simply sell a vehicle that isn't yours, but there are legitimate processes for dealing with one that's been left behind.
Document everything first
Photograph the vehicle, the VIN, the plate and where it sits, with dates. Keep any lease, notice or correspondence showing who left it and when. This protects you later.
Talk to the buyer honestly
